Mechanical Engineering Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the leading & oldest Departments established in the year 1963. It has trained technical manpower comprising of Head of Department, 13 Lecturers & 5 supporting non teaching staff. Majority of the teaching faculties are post graduates in diversified fields like Automobile, Production, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering etc.
The Department has rolled out several Diploma holders over the years, which are well placed as technical workforce in the state as well as national and international level. The present intake capacity is 40 students per year.
The Department is well equipped with the following laboratories:
- Heat Engine & Automobile Laboratory.
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Laboratory.
- Hydraulics & fluid Machinery Laboratory.
- Metrology & Quality Control Laboratory.
- CAD/CAM Laboratory
There are more laboratories proposed to be added in future, they are:
- Theory of Machines & Machine Design Models Laboratory
- Material Science Laboratory
- Mechatronics Laboratory
- Safety Engineering Laboratory
