Electronics and Instrumentation

Introduction:

This Diploma has been introduced in the Institute since 2006. All courses are common with Diploma in Electronics/ Electronics and Communication from I semester to IV semester. V semester and VI semester deal with application of Electronics in Instrumentation. The Admission to the course are conducted by the Central Admission Committee under The Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim, Goa through the common Diploma Prospectus available on their website www.dtegoa.gov.in.

Educational Eligibility:

Candidate must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the SSC (Std. Xth) or equivalent examination (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) with Science, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects.

Course Duration:

The Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is for duration of 3 years. Each year is divided into 2 semesters each. Full duration comprises of 6 semesters.

Intake Capacity:

  1. Total Seats are 20, distributed in seven different categories taken together.
  2. Additional 01 Supernumerary seat is available as Term Fee Waiver seat.
  3. 04 seats are available as direct second year seats 2 each for Vocational and ITI passed out students as per prospectus criteria.

Students passing the Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering can work as Junior Engineer, Supervisor and Technician in various Industries in India and abroad in Power Plants, Process Plants, Pharmaceuticals, Research Organizations, Marketing & Sales and Self employment. In Goa some of the companies who offer jobs for our pass-outs are Syngenta, Zuari Industries, Binani, Lupin Pharma, Cipla and Siemens.

The Diploma pass-outs can further advance their career by taking direct admission to second year B.E in Electronics/ETC/Electrical/Instrumentation or answer A.M.I.E./ I.E.T.E. exams for upgrading their qualifications for better prospects.
