DIPLOMA IN GARMENT TECHNOLOGY

The Department of Garment Technology was started in the year 1996 under the World Bank Scheme in the then Women’s Wing of the institute.  It offers 3 Years Diploma Program in Garment Technology designed to enable students to learn the elements of Textiles, Garment Construction, and Designing & Industry. The Department provides a platform for Fashion Education, Research & Training. The Department of Garment Technology has set academic standards and strives to provide a pool of creative genius and technically competent professionals to the Textile and Garment Industry

Course Duration: The Diploma course is for duration of 3 years (6 Semesters).

Career Prospects:-

Garment Technology student can choose various ranges of career paths the industries available are Fashion Garment, Textile & Retail. Job options are of Fashion designers, Event Coordinators etc. Garment Industry has options of joining as Pattern masters, Cutters, Supervisors, Quality controllers and high end job of Merchandisers to deal with buyers and track the deliveries. Textile Industry has good scope for Textile designers. Retail Industry needs Retail Managers, Stores in-charge, Window displayers, etc. A capable student can be an entrepreneur having own Boutiques, Fashion/Export houses.
