Principal's Desk

We at Government Polytechnic Panaji, have been striving hard to bring excellence in both Academic and Administrative areas with emphasis on accountability and responsibility. The administrative section has taken steps to tone up the administration with the aim for effective and efficient services to the staff, students and the public. Our manpower both teaching and non-teaching is our great strength who are highly qualified and experienced. But the challenge is to channelize the talents towards synergistic growth of the Institute. We encourage the faculty to upgrade their area of studies by taking up higher studies as in Master’s and Ph.d. programmes and research topics.

The student of all the diploma’s are encouraged to sharpen their learning skills through projects, assignment etc. on the campus. The final year Computer Engineering students have developed software for Inventory Management System for Department of Agriculture, the Fabrication students have taken up the project on fabrication i.e. grill gate and car shades on the campus. I also would like to involve the students for the development of the Institute both as stakeholders and technical hands.

Under the MHRD/AICTE, I am proud to announce that our Polytechnic is selected as Community College among 60 Polytechnics in the country and shall be running two courses under Sector -Construction with specialization in Building Technology and Sector-Infrastructure with Specialization in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning respectively. I was awarded Fullbrights Scholarship to visit US for 15 days to study Community Colleges and I visited institutes in Washington DC, New York, Miami etc., to study the best practices of Community Colleges in the U.S. and acclimatize them to institutes in our country.

We also invite all our passed out students who are spread out all over the world to register online in our Alumni Association Department wise. We consider them as our huge resource which could be utilized in many ways for an added value to our Institute.

I wish the outgoing students success in their career and request them to be in touch with the institute and give suggestions for betterment of the Institute in future.
