The scheme is addressed as ‘Integrating Persons with Disabilities in the Mainstream of Technical and Vocational Education’. Our Polytechnic is identified by the MHRD for the purpose of imparting Technical and vocational skill to the person with disabilities, in accordance with national policy on education 1986 and the persons with disabilities act 1995.

The Government polytechnic Panaji has been implementing this scheme since 1999-2000. The Scheme is monitored by a State Advisory Committee and Institutional Executive Committee.

The Objectives are to:

  1. Identify and promote appropriate Technical and need based education to persons with disabilities
  2. Develop appropriate training programs of short duration
  3. Develop innovative educational technologies and approaches for imparting technical Education, Training and Rehabilitation of youth with Disabilities
  4. To facilitate placement of trained youth for gainful employment and self employment opportunities
